ABOUT US

Originally the plan had been to let the property as a long term pension investment, however as the character of the cottage emerged it became clear that we had a far more interesting building than simply a 2 bed cottage let. Lifting the lino tiles that had been stuck down with bitumen was a long, knuckle scraping task but worthwhile to expose the slate flags which had been hidden for so long. Stripping the hardboard and wall paper revealed alcoves beside the chimney breasts and removing the crumbling plaster revealed oak lintels above the fire place and doors.

As the features began to emerge, we decided that we had to renovate the building in keeping with its character and to a quality which would make the cottage a great place to stay. A home from home in an idyllic village setting in the countryside of Cornwall.

To contrast the original features, the cottage was brought up to date with a brand new fitted kitchen featuring all that you would expect in a modern kitchen. The property has been completely rewired and fitted with oil fired central heating.

The new combi boiler provides instant hot water to the new bathroom which features a luxurious  suite with thermostatically controlled shower. Mains power smoke detectors are fitted, together with a burglar alarm assure peace of mind, although burglary is unheard of in our village! 

Since beginning our business in Easter 2006, we have taken on another cottage, and Nick & Jackie have decided to let their own house for a limited period in the summer. This is why we now have three properties available.
